I started out in journalism in the Middle East, covering the big events that occurred in Israel-Palestine and the region between the Second Intifada and the Arab uprisings of 2011. I’ve covered a war or two, seen a lot more violence than I care to remember — and also more beautiful things than I do remember.
Over the years I’ve worked for several media outlets as an editor of international news; these days I write quite a bit of political analysis and many op-eds for various media outlets, with a focus on foreign policy. I appear frequently as a guest political analyst on radio and television, and recently began teaching op-ed writing.
I'm a founding editor and contributing writer for +972 Magazine, a Tel Aviv-based digital-native news and commentary site that launched in 2010.
I occasionally publish a newsletter, called The Proving; click here to subscribe.
